PUBLIC COMMENT

To submit written public comment on an agenda item, please email public comments. Submissions must be received by 12pm the day before the Council meeting to ensure their inclusion. All submissions must include the commenter's name and legal address. To help ensure your comment is submitted for the correct item, please include the item/order number whenever possible, which can be found on the respective agenda that can be found HERE.

ABOUT THE TOWN COUNCIL

The Town of Gorham operates under a Council-Manager form of government comprised of a seven-member Town Council that are popularly elected by the registered voters of the entire Town. Each member is elected for a term of three years and until their successor is elected and qualified.

The Town Charter grants the Town Council all powers to create, change and enact, amend, or repeal rules, ordinances, and resolutions relating to the Town's property, affairs and government, to preserve the public peace, health and safety, to establish personnel policies, and giving effect to any vote of the Town and to authorize the issuance of debt. The council adopts an annual budget for both the municipal and school operations and provides for an annual audit. The council appoints the Town Manager and Town Clerk.
